Pruning tree hollyhocks

Hi, I put this in Tools and Techniques but got no replies, so I’ve copied and pasted below in the hope that it may get more views here and perhaps some advice. Thanks! Please let me know if the pictures don’t come out.

Good afternoon,
I bought three tree hollyhocks to grow into nice single stemmed bushes between my neighbour’s and my front gardens. I read that I should reduce the number so stems to one fairly straight one and I should remove side branches on the bottom third. I did this. See pics of 2 of them...

I then ordered three more so I could add one more to the line of them that I had already planted and two more in others places in the garden. However, these have come and they’re much bigger - a year older perhaps?
My question is, do I treat them the same to achieve a single stemmed tree/bush? / reduce to one stem at ground level and remove all branches on the bottom third?
see pics of new, larger plants:

Thanks!
