Plant Identification

Hi folks!

Can anyone tell me the name of this plant? It has purple flowers when they bloom. I bought this years ago but can’t remember what it is! I’m thinking of planting in my border rather than in the container but want to check that’s going to be ok.

    I think it's a Hebe but I don't know what variety.

    It could be a hebe Veronica in need of attention.  When the flowers are finished I would prune it right down to 4 or 5 inches, remove any stems narrower than a pencil.  Give it a good watering and hope it will recover enough to produce new stems next year. Give it a good feed when the new shoots appear. Prune after flowering each year.
