Currently flowering - dark purple flowers on large shrub about 8 feet tall.

It’s a Pittosporum Tenuifolium shrub. Those flowers should be scented.

Hi @lesley.frampton My P. tenuifolium are in full bloom at the moment. Actually, it takes a few years after planting until they flower (depending on the species/cultivar too). They have an interesting scent, but somewhat elusive, it depends on the time of day, aspect (sun or shade). Here's a pic taken a few weeks ago.
