    Prunus laurocerus ... aka Cherry laurel
    Often used as a hedging plant. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Thanks Dove.  Should have known that because I planted some Portuguese Laurel to fill a gap in my hedge a while back.  Mine are still only 2/3 feet tall though.

    😊 they can look quite different ... almost exotic ... when they’re in flower.

    This one looks super exotic at the moment....as you can see it is covered in flowers and the scent hits you from 20ft away
