wildlife friendly edible plants

Hello, 

I am looking to make my garden as wildlife friendly as possible, but at the same time I would like to include lots of edible plants. I have thought of crab apple and elderberry (happy to share the crop!), Globe Artichoke and herbs like Oregano, mint, fennel and rosemary for pollinators. Please can anyone suggest other plants that might fit the bill, especially welcome if there is some year round interest.

    How about fruit bushes, such as black/white/redcurrants, blackberry family, raspberries, gooseberries and strawberries?  All loved by birds and small creatures.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
