Ash for fruit and veg

We have lots of ash from the Brambles we burnt at the allotment.  We have only just planted our garlic and onions, and we planted some fruit trees and fruit bushes over the Winter.  Is now a good time to spread the ash on the soil, or do we wait until there is more growth?  Do you just leave it on the soil, or do you have to dig it in?

Usually high in potash, sprinkle around your fruit bushes. It will wash in .
You don't stop doing new things because you get old, you get old because you stop doing new things. <3
