Begonia tubers sprouted

I have some begonia tubers which I thought were in a cold place for winter. Some have creamy coloured shoots about 4cms long. If I break them off will they come again or should I pot them up with the shoots under the compost? Thank you.

  • Thanks Philippa smith2 Yes I did overwinter them myself but this is the first time I have had such shoots/sprouts.  Should I leave the shoots sticking up above the compost is what I am bothered about.  I will contact Lyn if I can.

Hello granomeara. Those pale shoots will turn green in the daylight so all you need to do is plant the begonia tubers as usual leaving the shoots above the compost.
