Pond Waterfall help!

Hi All,
My husband & I moved into our house a few years ago which already had a pond hard landscaped into the garden. It has a preformed (fibreglass?) sizeable waterfall however it is very aged and cracked. Rather than have the massive expense of digging it all out and starting again, we wanted to repair if possible...
We were planning to do either of the three below options and wondered if any experts could advise please? 😁

- Can we repair or re-clad the waterfall? As you can see from the photo the top texture is chipping away?

- Should we Line this with pond liner & try to hide with rocks? I’m worried we won’t be able to build up the sides enough to cover the black

- Rip out the waterfall and start again ourselves?

Thank you!

I had a similar problem and used pond liner to line the header pool.
I have ivy growing around that area which covered it all in no time and once the algae starts to grow on it you wont notice it.
Mine is now rather smothered in ivy so need to cut it back just to see the waterfall.
The header pool is also a great place to grow watercress - I get vast amounts of it over the summer months and it's lovely!

  • Thanks for the tips - will definitely try the watercress too!

Ooh, that’s a good idea! I’ve got chives growing near the edge of my pond, with some star grass dotted around, but I hadn’t thought of watercress (the clue is in the name...)
Does it need to be partly submerged then?

Yes -  I've got an ornamental grass growing in the header pool at the top which also has a silty bottom. Just drop some in so that just a few inches of leaves above the surface and off it goes. I haven't seen mine appear yet, so it may be a bit too chilly atm.
