Tropical plant suggestions

Hi, can anyone help my wife. She has recently acquired a number of smallish planters (60x30x30cm) and wants to plant up with hardy tropical like outside plants that give year round foliage. Obviously large specimens are not suitable but can anyone suggest some appropriate plants. Kind regards and thanks.

  • Hello, I grow variegated fatsia japonica, that look tropical and black stemmed bamboo. Arum lilies look tropical with their large leaves and white spathe flowers but these die back in winter. Because I have a lot of shade, impatiens look quite brilliant under the leaves to hide the pots. Valerie
