Buxus growth ( I’m a newbie )

Hi all , I am very new to gardening so please bare with , I think I have a problem with the growth of my buxus hedge , planted 18 month ago and seems to be not growing and has come out of the winter with buds on the top of the tips ( as per photo ) anybody got any ideas what it is and how I fix so the hedge can start growing in spring

It's just flowering...just hope you're not in the South East as the spectre of the box caterpillar has made it a terrible gamble to grow.

Yep flowering at this time of year is not unusual. If it bothers you then you can give it a trim. Be sure to sweep up any leaves or flowers you cut off to keep pests and blight at bay...
