Ornamental cherry blossom tree dying

I Bought a cherry blossom tree last December and about a month later it started to look like the leaves were browning and droopy. I thought maybe it was getting too much sun since it’s been such a hot summer so I have moved it into the shade but the problem is persisting and the leaves are browning from the outside in. It is potted but the soil is draining well and I water 1-2 times a week depending on the conditions. Please help! Pictures attached

    Very hard to say.

    It could be fire blight.
Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

Which country are you in? This is a UK based forum so our cherry trees would have lost all their leaves by December. We do have members in Australia and the US who might be able to advise. From what we heard about the hot summer in Australia it may be a lack of water, it may have needed watering every day.
