BIRD OF PARADISE PLANTS

Good Morning All,

I have four pots with B.o.P plants in, two of which are over 30 years old and they have been flowering for a few years now.  The other two are newbies and not old enough to flower yet.

One of the older plants has separated into two plants, which this year has one flower on each, and the other one into three plants, all joined together, and there are now five flowers on that.

I would like to separate them as they are spreading sideways quite a bit, so how should I go about doing this, when is the best time to do it, and will they survive being split up please ?

Good morning to you. B.O.P plants can be divided now but it may mean a slight reduction in their flowering. They like to be in large clumps and slightly pot bound to produce their best show.

    Hmm!
    How can this be.
To have two people with the same name on a forum?
I am Silver surfer with a small s for surfer.

I was surprised to see that question apparently from you, @Silver surfer - thought you'd be more likely to be answering it... maybe the other name was accepted because it has a capital letter for each word?

So have  I...my first answer to a thread was February 2013.
Cannot trace the actual date I joined.
I didn't post a lot in the early days as I found adding links/pics hard.
Now it is far more user friendly.
