Please can anyone identify this

I walk past this bush every day to school with my children ... I love it ! Now the sun is coming out it’s also starting to get buds? Maybe it flowers . Any suggestions very welcome as I would love one in my garden! ( hope you can see it as I had to reduce pixcel size so much !)

There is no smell ? It’s very firm but soft to touch - about 1 metre wide and 80cm high ??

Ok this is a possibility - I have googled it and it looks a little similar to heather - Alberts gold !? Thanks for the suggestion
