What Tree Do I Plant???

Our neighbour has recently removed a very big fir tree which gave them and us privacy from the houses in the road (we are on a corner!) and it now obviously feels too open and bare so we would like to find another evergreen tree (Max H: 8-10m Sp: 6-8m) or deciduous tree (same measurements) with Spring and/or Autumn interest that will support insect and birdlife in some way.

I wouldn't put another tree there, the tree gave far too much shade and now you have more light to enjoy.  That is my personal opinion.   When you look at the neighbouring houses with the tree in place, you will see most of their windows were quite visible.
