Water logged parts of the clay garden

I have a small garden at the back of the garden seems to be more sudden and holds water than the front of it.I’m not sure if I want to sew grass or put gravel down but how do I sort out the pockets of water in the ground as it’s heavy clay

Raising the level would seem to be the long term answer.
