What veg do you recommend which will suitable for pots/tubs and be early-cropping?

In the spirit of growing your own fruit and veg, and just in case we need to plan for supplementing food shortages, I am trying to plan my fruit and veg sowing/planting.
I currently grow all my veg in pots or tubs as I find this easier for pest-control and my sister has a couple of raised beds. I don’t have a greenhouse but can start seeds off indoors on a table by the patio window.
Ideas welcome.

Oskar peas are very early and rocket is quick, round carrots, pea shoots. I'm trying radish, plus mixed salad leaves.

A few years ago I had a spare quite big and deep plastic pot and 1/2 bag spare MPC. I sowed carrots and had a good crop of perfect carrots. The bright feathery foliage mixed in well with other pots with flowering plants - and no carrot fly

Thanks everyone so far. I tried peas for the first time last year so will definitely try again. I like the idea of mixing pots of veg with pots of flowers too.

Chard - Dove's favourite 'fordhook giant' is lovely and very reliable. A few dwarf broad beans like 'The Sutton' if you have a deep pot. Or some dwarf French beans for later in the spring. Or a few 'first early' potatoes.

    What about herbs?

Maybe this is the year to try some potatoes. I’ll have a read-up.
Herbs - yes - always do a few pots of parsley and lemon basil etc - great to add to salads and other dishes.

If you have a MPC bag a third or half full, roll down the bag and plant spring onions and little jem lettuce in it . As you use it pop in more seeds and it will last all summer.😃

I always do well with Potatoes in tubs.

I am having a go with Rhrubarb in a tub. I have researched it and found a very large tub to grow it in. We will see what's happens with it!!

I hadn’t thought of Spring Onions - we love those. Definitely going to do potatoes.

I love the red "Apache " spring onions @AuntyRach they taste really nice, not hot or strong but with flavour.
