Pear espalier needs help

Can anyone advise how/if I can salvage my attempt to train a pear tree into an espalier? I got as far as training the first 2 lateral branches, but as you can see (photo attached), one of these is shorter than the other AND the central stem has shot up and failed to develop another set of 'trainable' laterals. What can I do???

I wouldn’t worry about getting it to look like something from a Kew display garden.

Bend the long side branch on the left over and slowly train it into a lateral. Cut it back to a reasonable length. Ignore the fact that it doesn’t have a partner - who cares?

At the height of the rooftops in the photo are two more branches. Do the same with those.

Snip off the vertical shoot beyond them.

    Enjoy, don’t fret. 😊
