Honeysuckle
in Plants
Hi,
could you tell me when would be the best time to a cutting from a honeysuckle.
My dad me a small plant, he grew from a cutting he took, from one that was growing on the house,
I can not ask him as he passed away,
I want to be able to keep the plant going,
many thanks

Is it the small plant you mention that you want to take a cutting from?
It may depend how mature that plant is as to how viable it would be. Do you have a photo or any other info?
It's usually later in the year [late summer] for taking semi ripe cuttings - ie, wood which is firming up a little, rather than the soft growth of earlier in the summer.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
If you've ever grown strawberries @Serenbach68 - it's the same principle as pinning down their runners

My dad started his off from a cutting he had from my Nain his mum, that would of been well over 30 years ago.
he gave me mine when i got married 1992.
I don"t know what kind it is I love it because My Dad gave it to me.
many many thanks to all of you
Take care
