Allium Purple Sensation

Hi,
I planted lots of Allium Purple sensation late last year. Should they be coming up by now? My Allium Sphaerocephalon have started to come up...

Thanks

Fred

Mine are just poking through, less than an inch above the soil surface. I'm in the south east :)

No sign of mine yet, I'm in the West Midlands.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Mine are potted due to a house move. Currently four inches high - West Midlands
  • Ok thanks. Maybe I should have put them in earlier.

Mine are only just starting - and I can’t remember if it’s the purple sensation or sphaerocephalon that are growing. I also planted some Christophii but now sign of them yet. I can’t remember exactly when I planted - November or early December.

My alliums which I moved last year in spring are already well above ground and leafy. Some of the small white flowered ones - not sure of the proper name.

  • I find the sphaerocephalon come up before many other other alliums even though they are later to flower. The purple sensation should overtake them and flower first, that's how they behave in my garden anyway🙂

  • Thanks Victoria.

This is the first time I have alliums other than sphaerocephalon but echo what has been said about this type appearing pretty early despite flowering late.
