@Marlorena I have relocated Claire Marshall today. She seems not to have an extensive root and came up rather easily although the roots do seem healthy. I have added manure into the planting hole and watered her in well. Wondering if I need to prune back also? So far as I can see, there do not appear to be any buds on the 4 older stems. Cheers Owd
@owd potter ..thanks for the photos.. You don't have much there to work with, just the one green cane that looks good... I'm not sure if you've got any life left in the brown stubby bits... it's possible two of them might shoot from the base, but the 3rd which I've shown below, looks dead to me, and I would cut it out where I've put the blue line..
...as you've just transplanted it, I would also prune back that good shoot to where I've shown, just above a dormant bud... it seems drastic but it will improve your rose ... I would be reluctant to prune it lower at this stage until it's recovered in the summer and you can see what you've got to work with...
