Lawn weed

I have this weed in my lawn and it is not responding to general weed killer. What can I use to kill it off please?

Looks like liverwort , its a sign of poor drainage . I would just rake it out and improve the drainage.

Agree - it will always do better than the grass if you can't fix the drainage.

Doesn't have to be a major project with fancy drains.   You can start by spiking your lawn by pushing in a garden fork as deeply as possible and wiggling it back and forth to open up holes.  Do this every few inches and working backwards so you don't compact the new holes with your weight.

Then pour on lawn sand in small piles and sweep it over and down your new holes so they are filled with better draining material.   Several brands of lawn sand are available or you could just use plain sharp sand if that's cheaper.

Do this from late spring when the grass is starting to grow again and repeat in early autumn if necessary.   Rake off as much of the weed as you can before treating then again as it starts to dry out and die off.

Hope it works.  It may need a few goings over for a few more seasons but better drainage should fix it.
