Planting ideas/suggestions

Hello

I have recently moved house and inherited a green painted, wooden septic tank cover, 9 inches high, 6 square meters, an eye sore near the drive, and too expensive to relocate in the acre and a half garden. Can readers please suggest interesting/attractive/ quick growing planting around this to camouflage it? The garden is on a south facing slope in the Scottish Borders. Not sure yet about the soil type, but the newish rhododendrons nearby are doing ok, but not well in my opinion.

Many thanks, in anticipation.

I would put a small trellis fence around this, then train something like an evergreen clematis like 'Freckles' over it. I presume that you will need to keep access clear to the septic tank occasionally?

My daughter has planted mixed flowering shrubs around hers.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
