Looks very daphne-like to me - does it have a lovely scent ?

It looks like a daphne to me too. Probably a Daphne Bholua, whether Gurkha or Jacqueline Postill, depend or whether it loses its leaves or not. (Gurkha tends to be deciduous, Jacqueline Postill keeps its leaves in Winter. )
