Mahonia Soft caress or Sweet winter
I fell in love with the sent of Mahonia long time ago. As the garden is on the smaller scale and I do not enjoy the prickly leaves I put off having one until I found out about Mahonia Soft caress. I was looking into buying Mahonia Soft caress online but while visiting a local garden centre I came across Mahonia Sweet winter. Which of the two would you recommend me buying and why? Thank you.
1. Mahonia eurybracteata subsp. ganpinensis 'Soft Caress' has been in garden centres for a few years.
Mahonia eurybracteata subsp. ganpinensis 'Soft Caress' (PBR) Recently released onto the market, and winner of "Plant of the Year" at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013, this is the first Mahonia to have spine-free leaves, which means that they can be planted near to paths or doorways where you may brush past them.
2. Not seen Mahonia eurybracteata 'Sweet Winter'.
It is another new shrub covered by Plant breeders rights.(PBR)
