slugs versus cabbages

I treated myself to a great veg cage last year and it worked a treat stopping the cabbage whites but i still managed to lose all my cabbages (Except red ones) to hundreds of tiny slugs. They ate right through to the centre. I don't like slug pellets so any suggestions please.

You can use slug traps with a few pellets in so nothing else will touch them and they don’t go into your soil.
Or, you could use the slug traps for beer or lager, the slugs fall in and drown.

  • I will give that a go. Thanks

You could also plant a row of lettuce all the way round, they may just go for that instead of your cabbages.
