House plant ID
in Plants
I bought this plant from one
of the big DIY sheds and I would like to know what it is and how to take care of it? I think it should be trailer, but its underneath a velux so growing upwards!
The leaves die back along the stem and i've been picking them off so it looks a bit scraggly, but loads of new shoots are popping up.
Thanks for your help!

"Tradescantia sillamontana is an attractive evergreen perennial in the spiderwort family, Commelinaceae. Commonly known by the names Cobweb Spiderwort and White Velvet, it has an upright habit and produces oval-shaped, grey-green, succulent leaves which are covered densely in soft, white, cobwebby and woolly hairs. The leaves measure up to 5cm long and are arranged in two opposite ranks. Pretty little 3-petalled pink-purple flowers appear in the summer at the tips of stems, between the leaves. This species has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. This plant grows best in sandy, gritty, well-draining soil, plant in a position of full sun for optimal growth. Care should be taken with exposure to full sunlight as the leaves can burn, its recommended to acclimatise plants gently to increasing light levels. Once known by the common name 'Wandering Jew', this name is no longer used by the horticultural world and is provided for historical purposes only. "
