Help please!

I am not a gardener.
My mother has asked for a Prunus cerasifera Pisardii shrub for Christmas.
I have been told by a retailer that it is the same thing (just a different name) as a
Prunus cerasifera Nigra

Is that correct?
If not, does anyone know where I might be able to locate a
Prunus cerasifera Pisardii?

With very many thanks

It is correct. They've been re-classified by " the powers that be" and are now considered one and the same.

It's more of a tree than a shrub, up to about 23 ft if I remember correctly. It can be pruned (ONLY in May/June) but they don't look terribly elegant after. Grows quite fast. It has purple coloured leaves and usually pale pink spring blossom.

Have a look on the RHS site - they list suppliers .
