Black Friday offers - were you tempted?

NollieNollie Posts: 7,029
I try to avoid them because I am tempted to add things I don’t need just because they are on sale. However, yesterday I was about to place an order and thought, hmm, maybe wait until today just in case... and got 17% off the total price. So worth waiting 24hrs. I got:

Clematis Kokonoe
Clematis Durandii
3 x Berberis Bagatelle
Syringa Persica Laciniata
Malus Evereste

Annoyingly tho, the Philotheca Myoporoides I also wanted had just sold out!

Did you get any good bargains?

    Nope  :)

Bargains are only bargains if you want them to start with.  Enjoy yours @Nollie ;)

No, not so far, but the night is young...

...I should add, I'm delighted you got those plants... the Berberis is full of autumnal colours right now...

  • I've been researching new laptops for ages ... John Lewis had some good deals all this week ... I've got just what I wanted, and the set up done and anti-virus etc etc all for at least £100 less than I'd have paid a few weeks ago  :)

I might have been tempted but our shopping destination today was closed by a bombscare.  Other towns in France have had shops and shopping centres impeded by demos protesting against the fake sales.

Black Friday is yet another band wagon upon which I shall not be jumping.

No.  I buy what I want when I see it at a good price, and what I need when I need it.  So much has been published about the cons run by companies in the lead up to Black Friday that I'm amazed anybody still gets sucked in.

I bought my own Xmas present in the pre-Xmas sales but only because we desperately need a kettle as ours is leaking and it's too dangerous to use now. I went for a variable heat model so it doesn't have to boil when we make green tea and coffee. My wife is having the matching toaster which will save my family having to put some thought into presents. They will be relieved. Both advertised as 50% off but seemed like a good deal despite the marketing stuff.

Not garden related, but bought Nike VaporFly 4% (magic shoes run marathons 4% faster) down from £210 to £105 :)
