    Afternoon all,
Ghastly ghastly ghastly. As predicted. As usual.

If I rest them on my nose, just so, I can read. But I can’t see across the room. That requires me to push them a bit higher. Long distance I can’t do at all. Read a numberplate at whatever? Forget it.

And one leg presses on my left ear and has given me a bruise there, while the pad on my right nose has formed a deep depression in my skin.

As ever, I am going to spend the next three months bending and plying the various bits of frame until something suits me. I once managed to snap the frame when I got too frustrated with it all. I wasn’t given the right sort of temperament to be a fiddler.

Rebecca, I really hope that your problem is fixed. 🤞

Sorry, going to sit with me specs off for an hour or two and try to calm down.

    Miserable weather intit?

Apropos of nothing, here is a nice old photo of an event in Derbyshire long ago. Don’t know why or what they were dancing for, but if people are going to get worked up about two men dancing together on TV they should take a closer look at rural goings on in the past.

DON'T BREAK THEM BEFORE YOU'VE WORN THEM IN, PANSY.

Bit of an oompah band going on there.  Probably just pitched up in the park one fine day and started blowing.  And everyone got dressed up and enjoyed a free dance.  They're all in their Sunday Best, with hats, and queuing round the block to get in, by the looks of things.  Edwardian, I'd guess.  Could be a Harvest Home supper given by t'farmer......bit too exciting to be a Church Outling......

Well done on the card writing LB.  I've finished all mine, and wrapped more presents, dyed my 'roots', arranged the boiler service for January, agreed to go to the museum tomorrow, taken in my parcel,  and generally felt quite productive.  I'm leaving tea time cooking to OH because I've done my whack for today.  So that'll be pizza and a jacket spud, then.  Maybe with a big salad if he's feeling really clever.....😉

Very pleased to hear that the boiler seems to be okay, Rebecca.  I hope you've got something in writing, dated and signed, outlining all the work they've done on it?

    Afters all.

Thats is the best news Iv had today Rebecca.   Fingers crossed your heating stays on for you.

PF. Oh dear !   I’m not blessed in the patience stakes either.   Steady away with those specs, Pansy.    How Re the cats faring ?   I see what you mean about that picture....I wonder why ?   There must be a reason other than lack of a female partner as there are two ladies dancing together on the right of the picture.    I hope they don’t introduce it on Strictly as they said they might.     Maybe im old fashioned, but I wouldn’t like to watch them.   I know sometimes females dance together, but Iv never seen men dancing together.   Something else forced upon me I don’t want.

Put the flags out, LB might have finished her card writing by now.  ☺️

SGL.  Let’s hope you both had a lovely day out today.   As a suggestion for a Cmas pressies......I bought several of those Experience days.  Balloon ride, Tea for 2, a meal for two, a night in a hotel etc.    Each one has about 70 choices.   What can you buy young people today.   You can buy them everywhere.  I had mine from a GC.

JOYCE/CHIVE.  Yes, occasionally im a naughty girl.  😉. But oh, I did enjoy eating my stash, especially the nut brittle.    Note to self:  must replenish my stash.....and soon.   CHIVE.  Hope you had a pleasant visit with your Mom.

Lamps  and lights on already.  It’s gone really dark quickly.

    Good evening to all.
Finally I caught time for rest a bit. I was yesterday whole day at cottage and done a lot of jobs. I was sorting my veggies after school till now. I also pickled cabbage. It was quite a fight for him with deers.  My salads lost the battle with them.
Yesterday was raining and today was sunny, windy and pretty cold.

LB thanks for fungi photo from yesterday.

PF take it easy, you will used to new glasses.

Any news from Rebecca? I hope so that boiler is sorted today.

I am so relieved to have got that tedious job out of the way. PF, I don't think those people are dancing, I think its an all out feudal battle. Persist with the specs despite the teething problems. You toasty warm yet Rebecca?

Ante - if I was a deer I would eat the salad first before the cabbage.

Evening all. Fingers crossed you stay toasty Rebecca🙂

I also had an Amaze-me delivery so OH and I have been playing meerkats on guard duty every time a vehicle comes down the road.

Later tracking info gave a delivery slot between 4pm and 9pm. Hmmm.... this would be down a country lane with no street lights and no illuminated house signs.....

Fortunately, at about 4.30,  I could see online that he was 3 stops away - so I went outside with a torch and stood in the rain like a muppet waiting to flag him down. He was very grateful. Have no idea how those guys can do that job in the dark.

Pansy - hope things settle down soon.
.... How Re the cats faring ? ...

I read that as "How are the cats farting?"

Maybe I need some special Pansy specs too😁
