blossom tree recommendations

Hi all,

I'm looking for two fruit trees - one that produces abundant white blossom, one light pink. Decent size, but nothing that grows too large (8-10ft would be ideal)...any recommendations?

Thanks,
Jamie

Crab apple! Gorgeous - I’ve got Butterball which has looked good all year. Deep pink buds open to pale pink flowers that gradually fade to white which quickly form green, flushed red fruits that from late summer to late autumn are a glowing yellow/orange flushed red.

It was absolutely covered in blossom, and only a very young tree.

@Hexagon don't mind if not edible as long as it's not dangerous for little people

Then a couple of varieties of crab apple will be ideal ... some ideas to bear in mind here https://www.pippintrees.co.uk/articles/tree-advice/how-to-choose-a-crab-apple-tree-for-your-garden

The weeping varieties can be great fun for children as they can ‘hide’ or build a camp or fairy palace beneath the branches. 😊

I have no connection with Pippin Trees but they have a great reputation as an online supplier of fruit trees and have lots of advice about how to plant etc on their website.

  • Amelanchier lamarckii has striking white blossoms, edible fruits and colours beautifully in autumn. It will grow larger than 10ft, but is generally considered to be a small tree. Its habit is not blobby but more towards open and airy.

  • Thanks for all the suggestions, some beautiful looking trees...I'm off down the garden centre!
