Plant ID - long shot!

Hi
Any ideas on this one - appreciate a difficult one not in flower although there is one bud...looks a bit like a mini red hot poker! Originates from Madeira I think - but seems hardy in UK...

    Looks like a red hot poker to me too.
    Or maybe chincherinchee
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Many thanks B3. I got them growing from cuttings after visiting Madeira. I think you may be right about chincherinchee...looks like I need to protect from frost. I'll let you know next spring when hopefully it will be in flower 🙂

    Looks very much like chincherinchee to me.
    Pretty, but be careful - the seeds spread like crazy and if you're not careful they'll be everywhere in no time.
    It's very invasive as I found out a few years ago.

    PS - frost made no difference to mine - they just kept on multiplying
