Planting new potted shrubs now

I have just bought some deciduous shrubs. Hydrangea Annabelle and a dwarf syringia to go into a mixed border bed. They are in 3 litre pots. The soil is pretty wet. (no surprise). Can I plant them now with grit and compost, or is it better to wait until the Spring and over winter pots in the cold frame.

plant them any time the ground isn't "waterlogged" or "frozen" . It depends what you class as "pretty wet" . By and large I'd say better in the ground.
Don't add grit when planting , you'll just create a sump where water will collect.
