How do I stop our big Echium Pininanas from rotting over winter?
They all rotted from the top down last winter. It's the cold damp they don't like, I'm told. But what is a good way to keep the damp off them, when they're outside...and will others tolerate being dug up and kept in a cool shed?
There’s nothing you can do, they don’t like cold wet weather, they don’t transplant so I doubt they’ll survive digging them up, there’s a few threads on here about them, may be of interest to you.
One year I tried fleecing them, didn’t work either I’m afraid.
