Tulips for Spring 2020.
Today I planted my tulip bulbs for Spring next year.
I wonder which varieties did you choose. Here is my little collection:
We've put in today:
Allium Violet Beauty
Allium Multibulbosum Nigrum
Narcissus Ice King
And coming next all the tulips
A mix of
Tulip Purple Doll
Tulip Amazing Grace
Front planted with some Muscari Aucheri White Magic.
But that would be the weekend after as we run out of time 😉 always takes much longer than you think when you have nearly a thousand bulbs.

I've kept it more simple this year for impact rather than mixing it up too much as I've done before.
60 each of Jimmy and Queen of Night spread over 5 pots.
I mixed them with other bulbs. Not all planted as it has been raining non stop.

I've got plenty yet to plant 3 boxes plus all of the bulbs I've saved from last year.
Can't remember all the tulips I've bought but I've got quite a few varieties.
Queen of the night
Peppermint stick - species
dwarf purple one ? - species
2 dwarf types which I can't remember names either .

I've planted Jan Reus, Orange Emperor and Purple Flag. I've also planted 15 'free' mixed lily tulips and have had 15 more delivered this morning, I'm hoping Ballerina, Pink Parrot, Black Parrot and some lovely white lily tulips will reappear in the garden.
I followed Monty Don's advice (GW last month) and used a crowbar to plant my tulips - it works well.
Planted the following:-
*Battalini Salmon Gem
*planted in containers as they are dwarf varieties.
