Best mulch for a new Beech hedge

Hi all,
Im planting a new beech hedge and was wondering if leaf mould or woodchip (thats a year old) be better as a mulch?

Either will be fine. Woodchip will last a bit longer, helping you keep the weeds down while it establishes.
