I've never voted labour in my life, but it could be as the tories clearly don't give a toss about homelessness

@barry island - no, I too have never voted Labour and never will.  Their brand of Socialism is neither fair nor sustainable as an economic model.

I do believe in socialism with a small s.  People are naturally sociable herd animals and we do best where we look after each other and that means helping and sharing resources and that means decent housing, decent green space, good health care, good education so that everyone can make the most of themselves and their lives and their communities.

News report today of a man being jailed for 12 weeks for kicking a seagull do death.
Words fail me, they really do.
in what way? do you think it should have been more? or less?

  • I read the headlines and to be frank I don't think that the man would have been found guilty of killing the bird as it was known that the bird was injured before the incident, the man however pleaded guilty to intentionally killing the bird.

In as much as somebody could kick a seagull to death...why??
do you think the 12 weeks in jail was not enough, about right , or too much?

Good question.. it was the act rather than the punishment I found bewildering.
I don't honestly know the answer.
yeah, I know exactly what you mean.
