Shrimp plant

Im trying to source a cutting or plant ;Beloperone Guttata, or shrimp plant. We always had them at home when I was young, and now I never see them, does anyone know where I could buy one?

  • I think the name has been changed from Beloperone guttata...to Justicia brandegeena.

I would have expected any good garden centre to sell them as an indoor houseplant ...just ask for shrimp plant.
Maybe someone here can send you a cutting.

For some reason I was fascinated by a shrimp plant a neighbour had in her conservatory when I was about 10 yrs old and would ask to see it on regular visits when I played with her kids. I've always had a fondness for them but never owned one.
I do see them in the garden centres still quite often.
I'm pretty sure it was the first latin name of a plant I learned, what a pity they've gone and changed another one.....
    Long live the sedum!! :)

  • Pete8 and Jonesy I had this plant for a long time, it was gigantic and loads of flowers, unfortunately I lost it in one of the moves. I will get one as soon as I discover a place that sells, unfortunately Durham does not have a garden centre that has indoor plants.
