I have a clematis that flowered earlier this year a lovely purple colour, it has now flowered again but the flowers are a lovely yellow colour how is this possible?

    It isn't, is the simple answer  :)

    I have one that looks like that but it's 2 plants going up the same tree

    I agree @nutcutlet - there will be two plants. As often happens, a seemingly 'dead' clematis can spring back some years later.
    Assuming it's another clematis, of course  :)

    We do need a pic and/or more info from @nutz1966 though.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
