Chinese money plant

Looking for some advice on my poorly looking chinese money plant. It's been growing well since I got it around 8 months ago. The past few weeks the lower leaves have been drooping and falling off (pictures attached).

Is it normal this time of year now it's getting less sunshine?

I've also noticed some small, black flies running across the soil and on the leaves. Could this be the reason? And how can I get rid of them?

Thanks,
Megan

Not one I've grown but does the pot have a drainage hole and what have you been feeding it and how often?

For the flies I'd give the yellow sticky traps a go. I used them on a spider plant a few months ago and they cleared them up in no time.

The little flies usually are attracted to moist soil on houseplants. Put your finger in the compost if it sticks it's too wet
