Laid turf on Monday- How long to root (Scotland!)

Hi everyone.

I laid a long-anticipated new lawn on Monday. Well prepared base with some bonemeal on top, so all should be fine. 

My worry is that it's been quite cold ever since. I lifted a corner just a minute ago and it's not even started to take yet- 

Does anyone know how long it should take to begin to root at this time of year?

    I doubt you'll see much happening now. You'll just have to be patient  ;)

    Just four days - even in summer nothing would have happened yet!  :D
    It'll be a slow process. I expect @glasgowdan might be able to give you an idea, but it depends where you are in Scotland too. It's currently 6 degrees here, after the frost this morning,and hasn't been higher than 6.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Don't worry, just leave it and forget. It'll root when it's ready! :smile:

    ...and keep off it till next spring if possible.

    I wouldn't even be too concerned about keeping off it strictly... as long as you're not on there daily, it'll be fine.

    Don't worry @Gaughan.david- you'll have the bools out next summer - nae bother  ;)
