When you say they don't have a root, are they growing from a single root which is underground, or something similar? I can't see the pix clearly enough to amke aguess - too blurry, but perhaps someone else will have an idea
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The ones that have germinated will die off over winter but you may be lucky and get done more germinate late next spring ... pop in a trellis or wigwam and off you go again ... and for free 😊
