Bare root roses

Sorry if this has been covered already but have I missed the window for bare root roses? if not when is the best time to order? t i a

    If you can get them , there's plenty of time to plant them whilst they're dormant.

    ASAP.  They'll get away faster if you can plant them while the soil is still warm.   If buying mail order, soak the roots in a bucket of water for at least an hour before planting and sprinkle the roots with microrhizal fungae before planting.  Make sure the graft union is an inch or two below soil level as this helps strengthen the plant and reduce suckering from the roots.

    Anytime between now and the end of March or April (depending on the seller). Some varieties will be sold out towards the end of season but there will be sales. Last year, I got most of my roses in the end of season sale and planted in April.

  • Good luck @Meomye it was one of the best things I did in my new garden. Such an easy way to grow them and more economical too.

    I got some great ones off one of the shopping channels. A set of five different varieties but you'd need to find out how old they are if you get them off the website rather than the programme as they might have been there a while.
