User name change - how long after changing does it actually change?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and have changed my user name, but even though it says it's saved the changes, when I post, the old name appears.

I wonder if it's because it takes a while for the new name to register, but don't really know. If that's the case, will it change the name on any of my posts, even if they were posted with the old user name?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello and welcome 😊

If you go into the site via the Gardeners’  World logo at the top left, and then into your settings etc, and change and save your name and log out again, that usually saves the changes.

    Hope that helps 😊

If it doesn’t do the job let us know and we’ll try to figure something out.

    Hi again, Dovefromabove,

I've just done what you suggested, but the old name still appears...

Also, sorry that this post appears under the Plants category, but I initially posted something related to plants, then saw that the old name appeared and tried to delete the post but couldn't, which is why I changed it completely.

    Hmmm 🤔

I’ll flag it up to the Mods for you ... I’m sure they’ll get back to you when they get a moment. 😊
