I have just got an allotment and it is full of comfrey and I don't know how to remove it many thanks Ian

Don’t... make comfrey tea, or add leaves to compost bin. Great feed for veggies

Thanks but one of the committee members said it should not spread so much but didn't tell me how to remove it I am new to gardening any help would be greatful many thanks

Ok, just dig out as much as you need to. Drown what you dig in a water butt, your veggies will love it.
It will regrow, but you can keep it under control once you have done a bit of digging out
