Passion flower wilting

I planted a passiflora caerulea this year in the ground and trained up a fence on wires. It romped away and has had lots of flowers but suddenly this week all the leaves have wilted and the flowers are shrivelling. I'm fairly sure we haven't had frost- nothing else is affected. It's on clay but i put lots of grit in when planting. I'm wondering whether to cut it right back and see what happens in the spring?

  • Thanks. I've taken these today. The stems seem to still be green.

I would leave it until the spring when you will see the new growth and then you can cut back to the new healthy growth.
