Hi, am I missing something? Each year a buy a few trays of Calibrachoa for pots and baskets. This/next year I thought I would grow my own and have started to look for seeds. No one seems to sell them? Anyone know where I can get some?

Hi Ladybird4, thanks for the speedy response. I forgot to say I am looking for the bright red version. I did see the Sutton site but it seems there's are mixed colors only? I am thinking about taking cuttings from this years blooms but thought it might be easier with some seeds in Spring?

Hi again Paul - it does seem that the seeds for specific colours are few and far between. As I recall all those links I gave you talked about a mixed variety called 'Kabloom'.

I think most calibrachoa are sterile, so they can only be propagated by cuttings.

That's right, they are grown from cuttings.

Wow really? Ok. I will try some cuttings. I am assuming it's like taking fuscia cuttings?

Hi Paul, you can get seeds. I bought them from Dobies ( see link)

However getting them to take from seed proved devilishly difficult. I only got two plants to propagate from seed from about 30 seeds sown. I would take the advice here and try to proagate from cuttings if you have a source plant.

I'm probably being really thick -probably definitely!
If the plants are sterile, how do they get seeds to sell?

To my knowledge, the seeds that are available are only for a specific strain of calibrachoa (Kabloom).
