Raised beds

Can anyone recommend somewhere that supplies good quality raised beds? Not too pricey hopefully. Looking for a 6ft x 2ft and a 4ft x 3ft. Both to have height around 30-45 cm. Thanks

Might be best to go to the your local wood yard and get some scaffold borders or decking planks or gravel borders , if your after something really robust railway sleepers.

I agree with Perki. Most places will deliver if necessary and a local tradesman, the sort advertising that no job is too small, will fix the planks together for you if you can't do it yourself.

I went to a very obliging builders' merchant, who cut the timber to size and delivered it.  They supplied fixing posts that go inside the corners.  I paid £200 for three beds, each about 120cmx90x40.  Assembling them was a piece of cake, using just a power drill and a screwdriver.

I used fencing timber for mine, with 3 inch posts in all the corners, concreted in as @josusa47 describes. It's fairly inexpensive  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
