How to care for my 6 month old Passion flower

My son who’s six planted some seeds he got for his birthday and we now have a six month old Passion flower , it’s approximately 5 feet tall in a terracotta pot with a cane support , it’s growing well and has a couple of side shoots near the top. I’ve never grown a Passion flower before and don’t know if it can stay outside as it gets colder , if he should plant it or if it should come in. It’s growing rather quickly too. Any advice would be gratefully welcomed , pippa and jack
