Tulip bulbs

Hi I am going to plant some tulip bulbs in part of my lawn. Do they have to be lifted once flowered or is there any other way to help them re-flower?

As you are going to be planting in the lawn, I assume you are going to be planting species tulips rather than the stiff, upright types. Species tulips can be left in place to naturalise and will flower happily from year to year. The cultivated types often don't do well once they have flowered and some people replace them each year.

I'd agree - the species ones will multiply if they have the right conditions, and are generally earlier, making it easier for grass cutting.
It would be difficult to create the right conditions for the others in a standard lawn.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
