Care of Indoor Zantedeschia

Hello,

I have been given what I believe is a Zantedeschia and I would like to keep it healthy but I don't know anything about these plants.

I read care advice that temperature needs to be maintained between 16-21 degrees C. I think I will struggle with the lower temperature, is this necesssary? I thought I would keep it on a windowsill in a light room, easterly sun but the temperature can drop to low double figures in winter.

I also wanted to check about repotting, to me it looks like it needs doing and I would just use an indoor compost mix. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

Keep it in a fairly sunny position.  One the flower has finished let it dry out over winter and it will regrow in the spring.
A word of warning....after watering, water droplets fall from the leaf tips so keep it off polished furniture.

    Thank you @Joyce21

If I am to let it dry out, does that mean I should be expecting the whole plant to die back after flowering?

@Victoria Sponge...yes, the whole plant dies back.

  • Ah, ok, I probably can keep it within the temperature it requires then, I can just move it somewhere.

Thanks @Joyce21 for that information, I don't recall seeing that anywhere when I searched online. Many thanks!😊
